Prime Timers Mid-Winter Rendezvous

          It is great to see all your friends from around North America gather at the annual Labor Day Weekend.  But in the middle of winter, when it might be sunny and 70° and it might be 20° and snowy, whatchagonnado?  How about a party? 

          Central Oklahoma Prime Timers invite you to their first Mid-Winter Rendezvous over Presidents’ Day Weekend in February (Feb. 17-20, 2012).  We are inviting all our Labor Day friends and members of Prime Timers to join us.

In the old days (the REALLY Old Days) hunters and trappers held a yearly Rendezvous to trade supplies, restock, sell their hides, and generally have a gay old time.  So we picked Mid-Winter Rendezvous for the theme.  The Ledo Bar in the Habana Inn, where much of the fun will be had, will be decorated in Hunting Lodge Chic; the bartender, we have been promised, will be wearing flannel shirts.

          The Rendezvous will include a welcome party on Friday, a Dinner on Saturday, and a Brunch on Sunday.  If the weather is nice, the Habana Pool will be heated.  There will be plenty of indoor events as well, with board games and local field trips.  There will be a trip to the Chickasaw Cultural Center at a reasonable $30 (if enough folks are interested).  Of course, there will be a hospitality room, and two Happy Hours. The price for the event is $69.00 (as noted, the trip to the Chickasaw Cultural Center is $30 more – check them out at http://www.chickasawculturalcenter.com/

          The Habana Inn is offering a special king or double room rate of $49.95 (plus tax) per night with a three night minimum stay.  That’s the usual price for a single room.  Additional nights before or after the weekend will be further discounted to $44.95.  In order to make a reservation, you must have a registration number from us to give the hotel.

          To register, email your name, address, phone, email and the name you want on your name tag to PTLaborday@aol.com.  We will respond, usually within a day, with a confirmation email that contains your registration number for use with the Habana Inn and their contact info.
