WHAT DO YOU DO?

What do you do when your heart stands still

As you suddenly see him again,

When you want to reach out and happily shout

All the joy you feel for your friend?

And what do you do while your heart melts anew

While love's longing suffuses each cell,

While your mind bursts afire with consuming desire

But you words your feelings won't tell?

And what do you do while your body cries out

For his sensitive, loving warm touch?

While your eyes start to tear, just because he is near,

His nearness affects you that much?

You do NOTHING, my friend, for the world won't pretend

To let your heart show what it knows.

For two men to embrace is a total disgrace

In a place where the public goes.

So you carefully hide your love's fire inside,

For the world thinks your love is a sin.

And your ardor's for naught for the fear you'll be caught,

So you say, "Hi! What's new? How've you been?"

And you shake your friends hand.

That's as close as you can

Show him what's going on in your heart.

GOD SCREWED UP

God screwed up yesterday!

I wasn’t meant in ecstasy to stay

Nor meant to gaze into his angel eyes,

As infinite as Heaven’s azure skies.

I wasn’t meant to stroke his silken hair

Nor touch his form’s perfection lying there

Not meant to feel the press of angel wings

Enfolding me and so to Heaven bring.

Nor in communion share his vital cup

From whence Angels, Paradise has supped.

I wasn’t meant to love so tenderly

This angel man come down from Heaven to me.

God screwed up yesterday!
